As part of the University of Virginia East Asia Center's 50th Anniversary celebration, we are thrilled to be hosting our prestigious alumnus Joel Robbins, Sigrid Rausing Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, for a Nelson Lecture on Southeast Asia, entitled "The Present and the Future in the Present: Religion, Values, and Climate Change." 

The lecture, co-sponsored by the Forum on Religion and Democracy and UVA's Department of Anthropology, will be held Thursday, September 25, from 12:30 - 1:45 pm in the Brooks Hall Commons, with lunch provided. We hope you will join us!
