As part of the Nelson Lectures on Southeast Asia the East Asia Center will be hosting Becky Butler, Assistant Director for Southeast Asia Initiatives at the Carolina Asia Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Butler is trained as a theoretical linguist, with a focus on the phonetics and phonology of mainland Southeast Asian languages. Her talk "Oral Histories Among North Carolina's Southeast Asian Diaspora," will be held Tuesday, March 14, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. in Monroe 111.
