The Poetics of Immanence: UVA in China Summer Program Returns After Six Years
In Summer 2025, the UVA School of Architecture resumed their China summer program, with the theme "The Poetics of Immanence.” Professors Shiqiao Li and Esther Lorenz led a group of UVA students to Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou to investigate the rich architectural and landscape tradition there.
Monday, November 3 there will be a Gallery Talk of an exhibition from that program, at the School of Architecture, Van Lengen Lobby, beginning at 5 pm. Shiqiao Li and Esther Lorenz, faculty directors, and students will present the program and outcomes, and share their experiences.
